Anni Kulmala, Legal and Procurement Trainee

Who are you and what is your role at Fintraffic?

I am Anni Kulmala, and I work as a trainee in Fintraffic’s Legal and Procurement Services.

What are you studying? How have you been able to apply your learning at Fintraffic?

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Administrative Sciences at the University of Vaasa. My major is Public Management, and my minor is Public Law. In addition, I have completed courses in management and business law.

I feel that my studies have provided a strong foundation for my work at Fintraffic. My public law studies have supported my work in assisting legal services tasks, while my studies in public management have been useful in tasks related to the procurement process.

However, I have learned the most through the variety of tasks in my role, where I have been able to apply my knowledge in practice.

What kind of employer has Fintraffic been? What have you learned here?

Fintraffic has been an excellent employer for me in every respect. I have had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of supporting tasks within our team and take responsibility in different projects. The work atmosphere has always been encouraging and supportive.

Through my work, I have learned to understand broader processes, such as the implementation of public procurement. Through different tasks and projects, I have developed my ability to manage my time and apply learned concepts and guidelines in practical work. The variety of tasks has also allowed me to collaborate with different people and teams.

The fact that this is my third summer working at Fintraffic shows how much I have enjoyed my work here.

What other plans do you have for the summer besides your work?

In addition to work, I plan to spend time at a summer cottage in the Saimaa region and take a trip to Europe.
